We are located near by the Baltic Sea in Northern Germany. Since 1972 we are constructing and manufacturing nearly all kind of grabs, lifting beams (traverse) and other related equipment for ports, shipping, industry and power plants. A worthwhile investment in first class equipment that serves reliable for many years gives more benefit than a low cost purchase that has to reiterate after a short time.
As a family owned company, we put the focus on quality of the products and contentment of our customers. Construction and production are in Germany in our workshop. We use to certify and test our products in co- operation with DNV Germany.

Shipping & port
ORTS grabs are the perfect and most effective connecting components between the ship and the customer at the quay wall. With our own designs and over half a century of experience, we know exactly what is important for your processes and cost control.
Industry & trade
Reloading, transporting, unloading or dredging - our durable grabs and devices are used on construction sites, waste incineration plants, in gravel pits, steelworks or foundries and grab scrap, recycling material, wood, excavated earth, shavings and other processing waste.
Agrarian & biomass
Wherever fast processes are required, customers benefit from our precise grabs. In the agricultural sector, our machines move animal feed, fertilizer, hay, straw and silage or are used to save costs when cleaning fermenters in biogas plants.
Our Products
Reliable, powerful and robust
The biggest grab from ORTS has a dead-weight of 115t and is a salvage grab. This grab serves in the Suez- Canal for removing ship-wrecks. The biggest dredger grabs from ORTS have a dead- weight of 60t and 80t. They were used for port deepening.
The fully radio controlled diesel- hydraulic motor grabs are made by ORTS since 1994.
No other grab maker has more experience with this kind of grab. They work independent, without external power supply, just a hook a needed. You can operate them with all kind of crane, everywhere and at once. 20 years old grabs of this type are still in operation, a worthwhile investment for the customers.
40 years ago, ORTS was one of the very first grab makers with environment friendly grabs with enclosed clamshells to avoid dust and spilling.
